calendar. Contact the Training Coordinator at
kbailey@spag.org with any questions.
What types of training does SPAG's 9-1-1
offer?
The SPAG call taker training program attempts to diversify training by
offering classes on such topics as suicide intervention, stress
management, customer service for call takers, homeland security, drug
and alcohol awareness, etc.
Who teaches the classes?
We utilize SPAG staff, outside vendors (such
as Public Safety Training Consultants), and regional instructors. SPAG
works collaboratively on creating a well-rounded 9-1-1 Call Taker
training calendar each quarter by pooling the resources of other
regional planning commissions, as well as the Lubbock Emergency
Communications District, the SPAG Law Enforcement Academy, the Lubbock
Sheriff’s Academy, the Lubbock Police Department, and other police
departments and sheriff’s offices in the region.
